Napili Bay vs. Kapalua Bay: which one should you pick?
Two crescent bays, five minutes apart, and people have been arguing about them on travel forums for twenty years. They are not really competing — they are good at different things.

Here is the short version, and then the table. Kapalua Bay is the easier visit. It has a lot, it has restrooms and showers, the reef is closer to the beach, and the headlands wrap around further so it is often calmer on a day when Napili has texture. If you have two hours and you want to snorkel and go, Kapalua.
Napili Bay is the better beach. It is longer, the sand is better, there is room to actually spend a day there, and the sunset across the full width of the crescent is the one people remember. It is also harder — no lot, no facilities, and you have to turn up early.
They are five minutes apart. The real answer, if you are staying anywhere on this stretch of coast, is that you do both and stop treating it as a decision.

Travelling with small kids, or anyone who needs a restroom within reach? Kapalua. The facilities question decides it and nothing else needs to be considered.
Want to actually spend the day on a beach? Napili. There is more sand, more room, and a genuinely great sunset at the end of it — provided you got there early enough to park.
Nervous snorkeller? Kapalua on most days. The reef is closer in and the bay is more enclosed, so there is less swimming to do before you see something.
